This week, when Opal Class opened Clever Cub’s Golden Box, we found another of Jesus’ Parables inside – the story of The Two Builders. One was wise, and built his house on the rock and one was silly and built his house on sand. When a big storm came, the house on the sand fell down, but the house on the rock was safe. We learned a song that matched Jesus’ story and created super storm sound effects using body percussion; we had a building challenge – building a house on the solid ground and building one on a piece of wobbly paper – that was tricky! We had a lot of fun playing ‘Rocky House’ ‘Wobbly House’ in the hall, and finished by building a safe, strong den to sit in whilst we listened to the story again, with drinks and biscuits! We learned that Jesus says, “I am like the wise man’s rock. If you trust me, I will never let you down.”
