Opal Class was very busy at Forest School this week. The Gruffalo challenged us to find out what lived near or under a log, in a tree and beside plants. We explored and investigated each of these places and we were very careful not to hurt or disturb the nature that lived there. We then went on a hunt to find things that could colour the playdough we were going to make. We found lots of yellow plants and found out that they were called dandelions and buttercups. On our hunt we found some leaves had started to turn red and this sparked a discussion about Autumn and the changes that we might start to see. When we got back to our Forest School base, some children went to the mud kitchen and made mud pies, chocolate cake and soup! What a busy afternoon!
