During story time, the children in Opal Class chose this story from our Julia Donaldson box. While we were reading the story some of the children were discussing how the other animals weren't being kind to the characters in the story. They were saying they were ugly and didn't look like the others. They were being laughed at and the children said that this would make them sad if it happened to them.
This week in school we are supporting Anti-Bullying Week and we talked about how this could be bullying if the animals carried on doing this over a period of time. The children said that they needed to say sorry and to use kind words like our class rules.
After the story, the children painted pictures of the animals and used kind words to talk about them to each other.
